Agents lead Polish intelligence to the Leber family in Gdańsk. Leber – formerly Wicherek – is a deserter from the Polish Army. He escaped to Berlin and from there he came to Gdańsk. His daughter Ewa completed a course organized by Relke in Berlin. While tracking Ewa, Czarek comes across a secret idea of a Polish general who ordered a model of a part of the city to be built on a training ground near Inowrocław. The general’s favorite is Dr. Patera. Czarek has two more seemingly loose pieces of information. The first is that the Germans, in strict secrecy, are building additional walls and bars inside the building of the German police presidium in Gdańsk. The second is that in Königsberg, assault companies practice fighting on models of the city. The matter is being clarified. The general is a German-hating fool. Patera, an Abwehr agent, convinced him of the idea of annexing Gdańsk to Poland by efficiently breaking into the city and the police presidium building. The models in Królewiec and near Inowrocław are a faithful copy of the relevant part of Gdańsk. Surprised in the rebuilt presidium, the general will be taken prisoner as living proof of Polish provocation against Germany.
